I thought that this appeal to the emotions of the victims of Columbine was pretty ironic given the fact that the industry is creating weapons of mass destruction, a point clearly made by Micheal Moore himself.Ģ.) The segment is extremely thought provoking and definitely effective in convincing the audience that the argument is valid. "We are Columbine" a slogan written on the side of a Lockheed Martin Weapons Industry truck. Reply Deleteġ.) In the segment of Moore's film "Bowling for Columbine" I noticed an appeal of emotion (appeal to pathos). I feel like its a possibility but I also believe there were many other factors that played role in why the shooting occurred. Neither side in my opinion was convincing.ģ.) I like Blake, Disagree that because there is a weapon factory in the town that's what caused the shooting.

Because, It just seemed like both the Weapons company and Narrator / director were trying to find somebody to blame. Its argumentative both ways.Ģ.) To be honest, I wasn't quite sure what the purpose / argument of this segment was supposed to mean or what the main Idea was.

Which leads me to believe that Faulty Analogy played a huge role in this film. 1.) In the film, Bowling for Columbine I feel like Emotional appeal (Pathos) was also used, By Lockheed Martins head of public relations saying that because many of the employees that work there have students that attend Columbine HS can cause a lot of people to feel like the violence and the fact that parents work at a weapons company are connected.
